The Women's Studies Minor

General Requirements

The Women's Studies minor requires a minimum of 25 credit hours in approved courses.

Core Courses

All students must complete 10 credit hours of the following core courses:

Electives

The remaining 15 credit hours are selected from Women's Studies and/or approved discipline-related courses. No more than 5 credit hours of electives can be chosen outside of Women's Studies.

Note: "Topics In" and "Studies In" courses vary by quarter. Only those courses listed as approved related courses may be used for the minor requirement. For courses not listed in official OSU Women's Studies documents, students must obtain written approval from the department before enrolling in the course.

Advising

Women's Studies advisors will assist you in choosing women's studies courses and approved related courses to complete your minor. All minors are required to meet with a Women's Studies advisor to establish an initial minor program. Any program changes and the completed minor program must be reviewed by a department advisor for written approval when applying for graduation.

Minor courses may be used to meet curricular requirements, as specified in the General Education Curriculum (GEC). Courses used in the minor CANNOT count towards the major.
