Financial Support for Women's Studies Graduate Students
The Department of Women's Studies expects to fund all students accepted into our graduate programs. Students in the M.A. program are eligible for up to 2 years of funding; PhD students are eligible for up to 4 years of funding.Fellowships
The Graduate School offers a variety of one-year and multi-year fellowships in a university-wide competition. These fellowships include a stipend and waiver of tuition and fees. Potential fellowship nominees should note that they must have a complete application on file, including recent GRE scores, in time for the competition. The Department offers Graduate Associate positions to all students admitted to the program. Students who receive a university fellowship will be awarded a GA position for subsequent years, up to the maximum years of funding listed above. Application for GA positions is part of the regular process of applying to the Women's Studies graduate program. No additional materials are required.Graduate Associate positions include a monthly stipend and waiver of tuition and some fees for the 3-quarter academic year. Students are strongly encouraged to become Ohio residents.
- Graduate Teaching Associates (GTA) assist in teaching high-enrollment Women's Studies courses. Reappointment as a GTA is contingent upon satisfactory performance in the classroom and fulfillment of teaching responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
- Graduate Research Associates (GRA) assist faculty members in their research or work on Women's Studies publications or other Women's Studies projects. Reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory performance of responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
