Women in Engineering:
Perspectives on Diversity
Today there is a large literature on diversity in the engineering profession. This literature confronts the challenges that women and minority men face in becoming engineers, as well as relating the multiple histories of underrepresented groups in engineering. In this Web sitewe offer some literature and resources for those seeking information, especially about women in engineering education and practice. We also offer a unique perspective on diversity and resistance to diversity in engineering culture. While there is some literature that offers psychological perspectives on engineering, we suggest an approach that interprets engineering identity, leadership, and resistance to diversity through the lens of group psychodynamics.
