TIE A YELLOW RIBBON is a rare view into the very real, emotionally complex interior of a Korean adoptee who needs to reconcile her feelings on race, identity and family, that have nothing to do with her birth-mother search. This film is one of the first feature films to address the abnormally high rates of suicide and depression among Asian American women. This groudbreaking work entices and challenges us to look at the hard, imperfect stuggles that Asian American women face on a daily basis.

"Elegant and touching... Using gorgeous location photography in tandem with an evocative soundtrack, Dietrich gives the film a lyrical quality, as we drift in and out of Jenny's dreams" - Benjamin Spacek, Las Vegas Weekly.
Visiting Scholar in Women's Studies and Asian American Studies at The Ohio State University, Dr. Lynn Itagaki, Professor of English at The University of Montana, Missoula will present Joy Dietrich at the panel discussion. For more information e-mail itagaki.5@osu.edu.
